Question 3

Are you afraid of showing others your true self? If so, why? If you feel like you are “real” with people why do you feel you can show your true self?

  1. I think everyone has insecurities. I think that mine this year have stemmed around me being a first year teacher. I did not want anyone to know my faults. However, once i have gotten to know my coworkers and know that they respect me as a fellow teacher, I did not have to have such high walls. For me, the ability to be "real" is all about trust. When I trust the people around me they get to know the real me.

    God is still working with me to remember that my worth is not determined my humans, but by Him. And He thinks I am priceless.

  2. oh man, being in med school is alla bout hiding what you really think and agreeing with what whomever has a higher level of training than you thinks. for awhile i thought it was a negative thing--hiding myself and my opinions, but i think i've turned it into a positive. it's a continual lesson in submission and a reminder that not only do i not know it all, i really know very little and am in control of even less!
