Question 2

Shelia focuses on the verse in Proverbs... "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not unto your own understanding...". She asks the question "What does it look like to put aside my own understanding? I couldn't un-know what I knew". Can you relate to this statement?

  1. I can relate. I like the second part about "un-knowing". It is so hard to push out the knowledge you already have. The devil, the world, your own thoughts... they all cloud out the words of God. Many times in prayer I ask God to clear my mind so I can hear His voice. Then it seems like I constantly have to fight the old thoughts from coming back in. I think it just takes remembering that God has a whole bigger picture that we can't understand.

  2. Absolutely. I find it very difficult to hear new things or be taught new ways when the old seemed to be working just fine. Although it may of been working just fine it most likely wasn't the correct way or the most beneficial way, yet I still stuck to it because it was in my comfort zone and for me that's where I seem to get stuck. I also pray for an open mind so that God can show me the bigger and better picture.
